FAQs

How soon can I make an appointment?

Please reach out by email or the contact form at the bottom of the page. We can typically offer initial consultations within 1-2 weeks, however if you do have a need for a more urgent appointment (including clients tackling eating disorders), please let us know and we will do our best to fit you in within a few days.

What are your opening hours / days?

We are available for appointments flexibly throughout both week-days and weekends. We understand that you may need to work the appointments around a business or family schedule, so can offer appointments up to 10pm where required.
Appointments will always be available subject to how busy we are. Please let us know if you are looking for urgent help - especially for those in eating-disorder-crisis. We understand how stressful these periods can be, so will work to schedule around you.

Do you offer home-visits?
We offer home-visits around the Central-Cambridge area through to Shelford & surrounding villages.
Please note that during the COVID pandemic, all appointments are undertaken by video call except where clients do not have access to the facilities.

Do you offer remote (online / telephone / skype) consultations?

Yes - we are able to offer remote consultations and appointments. In fact, our clients find these can fit most easily around their work/family schedules.

Please note that during the COVID pandemic, all appointments are undertaken by video call except where clients do not have access to the facilities.

How can I pay?

We accept payment via PayPal (business) or BACS. For individual sessions, invoices will be provided via email with a link to pay following the session. For packages, payment can be accepted up-front or in instalments.

Do you work with BUPA?
We do not currently work with BUPA in accepting new patients.

What do I need to do before my appointment?
We will send you all of the information you need via email. We will ask that you complete a secure form, submitted through this website which includes some basic information on your needs and goals. The initial consultation is designed to work with you to plan next-steps.

What will happen during my consultation?

Our initial consultations are designed to gather a comprehensive understanding of your own goals and requirements. We will discuss any concerns you have (including food, weight or psychological) and what you want to gain from nutritional guidance. We will give an overview of our next steps, including setting out some initial structure.

We will gather information about your physical health and eating patterns, however do understand that some topics may be sensitive, especially when you are struggling with an eating disorder. We will never ask for information that makes you uncomfortable.

Can I refer a loved one for support?
Yes - we accept referrals by friends or family for individuals that would benefit from nutritional guidance. We will never share information about the individual's sessions with the referring party - patient confidentiality applies under all circumstances.
If you would like to set up an appointment for someone else, please contact us via email or the form at the bottom of this page, and provide as much information as you have to hand. We will take it from there.

Do I have to be weighed?

No - at Nourish we do not focus on weight or calorie counting. Our focus is always going to be on addressing the relationship we have with food and eating. We understand in a lot of cases the prospect of being weighed is very stressful, especially when you are taking steps to address eating concerns.

If you would like to monitor your weight personally, this can be a good indicator of health. However, we would encourage all of our clients to take the focus away from the scales, and on to addressing your relationship (and enjoyment) with food.

What does a test involve?

We offer a full range of tests for hormone levels, deficiencies and much more - that can be found here. The majority of our tests are saliva samples, with the exception of a handful of tests that involve a small finger-prick. The tests can be posted directly to you to send back samples, or alternatively we can provide the tests during the initial consultation.
